Built events in a city that already owns the equipment

A product launch, a dealer meeting or a company anniversary is mostly a built thing: a stage, a screen, a rig, a rehearsal. Da Nang is the only city in central Vietnam where that equipment lives locally rather than arriving on a truck from Ho Chi Minh City, and that changes both the lead time and the price.

An ancient brick gate stands atop the stone fortifications of Hai Van Pass near Da Nang.

What Da Nang changes about event production

Since the city hosted APEC in 2017 it has kept the production capacity that came with it: rental houses with LED, lighting and staging in stock, crews who work the beachfront ballrooms every week, and a convention centre built for two thousand delegates on the beach road. For a client that means a rig can be specified, rehearsed and adjusted without waiting for a lorry, and specialist gear from Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi is the exception rather than the rule.

The consequence for your headcount

Because the built part does not grow with the audience, the cost per guest falls steeply as the room fills. An event that looks expensive for 60 people is often reasonable for 150 with the same production. If you are deciding whether to invite the wider dealer network, price it both ways before you decide.

Formats we produce here

Dealer and partner meeting

Business day, awards night

The most common 150-plus format on the beach strip: a half or full day of sessions in a beachfront ballroom, then recognition in the evening, often on the sand.

Product launch

The reveal, the press, the demo

Staged reveal with LED playback, camera positions and a demo floor. Needs the most rehearsal of any format and a room released the day before.

Company anniversary

Long-service awards at scale

Video, leadership address, entertainment and a recognition list that can run to dozens of names; pacing is the whole job.

Beach or riverside concert

Outdoor, amplified, permitted

Stage on the sand or a Han River lawn; permit filed four weeks out, curfew observed, ballroom held for weather.

Streamed and hybrid

For the people not flying in

Multi-camera, a tested uplink from the hotel and a producer whose only job is the remote audience. The city's fibre is good; we still test it.

Themed evening

A full environment build

Set dressing, costume, entertainment. Production-heavy, and the format where lead time matters most.

What stops an event in this city

  • Sound permits. Amplified outdoor sound needs city authorisation and carries a curfew; allow four weeks and put the loud segment early.
  • Power. Hotel supply rarely carries a full rig. A silenced generator, plus a second unit for anything streamed.
  • Rehearsal access. Ballrooms in Da Nang sell every night; the day-before access has to be in the contract at booking.
  • Weather. No outdoor build without a held indoor alternative, and from September to December we will argue for indoors from the start.
  • Drones. The airport sits inside the city, so much of the beach strip is restricted airspace; clearance takes time and is sometimes refused.
Lead time, honestly

Ninety days is the working minimum for anything with a built stage; a hundred and twenty with permits, imported equipment or a rehearsed reveal. Inside sixty days we will tell you what can still be built rather than promise the full concept and improvise.

Common questions

Questions travellers ask most

Can a launch include press?

Yes. Press changes the room: dedicated camera positions, a separate press area, controlled sightlines for the reveal, and more rehearsal. Say so at brief stage; adding press provisions to a finished design rarely works.

Where does the equipment come from?

From production houses in Da Nang itself, which is the practical reason the city works for built events. Specialist items from Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi add two to three days each way and must be confirmed at booking.

When do you need the final run of show?

Structure at fourteen days, detail at seven, and a technical rehearsal the day before. Later changes are possible but each carries risk on the night.

Can we stream to colleagues at home?

Yes, and for anniversaries and dealer meetings it is usually worth it. It needs multi-camera coverage, a tested uplink and a producer dedicated to the remote feed; as an afterthought it produces a stream nobody watches.
