When to go, and what each month costs you
Da Nang has two good windows rather than one, and they are good for different reasons. Spring is the reliable weather; autumn is the value. The months in between are the expensive ones, and that surprises planners who assume summer is the season.

The year in five blocks
| Period | Multiplier | Weather | Availability | Book ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| February - May | 1.05 - 1.15 | The most reliable of the year, warm and dry | Good, tightening in April | 75 days |
| June - July | 1.20 - 1.30 | Hot, bright, and busy | Tight, especially 120-plus | 120 days |
| August | 1.05 - 1.15 | Hot, domestic demand easing | Good | 75 days |
| September - October | 0.90 - 1.00 | Transitional, storm risk rising | Wide open | 60 days |
| November - December | 0.80 - 0.90 | Rain and storm season | Wide open | 45 days |
Month by month
| Month | Multiplier | Notes for planners |
|---|---|---|
| January | 1.00 | Cool and often grey. Avoid the Tet week entirely: rates spike, suppliers close, domestic demand peaks. |
| February | 1.05 | Improving week by week. Good value at the start of the reliable window. |
| March | 1.10 | One of the two best months. Warm, dry, comfortable for outdoor work. |
| April | 1.15 | The other best month, and the busiest of the spring. Book early. |
| May | 1.12 | Hot but reliable. Schedule outdoor activity before 11:00. |
| June | 1.25 | Domestic peak begins. Expensive and crowded; hotel shortlist narrows above 120. |
| July | 1.30 | The hardest month. Peak domestic demand and city events compete for the same space. |
| August | 1.10 | Still hot, demand easing. Better value than it looks. |
| September | 0.98 | Transitional. Often excellent, with storm risk beginning. Have a real fallback. |
| October | 0.92 | Good value. Rain more likely, storms possible. Indoor-weighted programmes do well. |
| November | 0.85 | Wet. Lowest rates with December. Plan indoors and treat good weather as upside. |
| December | 0.85 | Wet and cooler. Cheapest, and workable for a conference-led programme. |
How to decide
September to December
If the programme is mostly indoors, the autumn discount is close to free money. You give up beach reliability and little else, and the city is at its least crowded.
February to May
The reliable window. Warm, dry, and the sea is calm enough for water activity. Book by January for April dates.
August rather than June or July
If the calendar forces summer, August is materially better value than either June or July and the weather is the same.
Avoid the Tet week entirely. Rates spike, staffing is thin, many local suppliers close, and domestic demand is at its absolute peak. The dates move each year, so confirm before fixing anything in late January or February.
Lead time by season and size
| Group size | Jun-Jul | Feb-May, Aug | Sep-Dec |
|---|---|---|---|
| 20 - 49 | 75 days | 45 days | 30 days |
| 50 - 99 | 90 days | 60 days | 45 days |
| 100 - 199 | 120 days | 90 days | 60 days |
| 200 + | 150 days | 120 days | 90 days |
The constraint is almost never rooms — it is finding one property that holds both the rooms and the function space on the same dates, which is covered on the MICE hotels page.

Questions travellers ask most
Is summer really the wrong time to come?
Not wrong, but expensive and crowded. June and July are the domestic peak here and coincide with major city events. If your dates are flexible, moving to August or to the spring saves 15 to 25% on the same programme and widens the hotel shortlist considerably.
How bad is the autumn storm risk?
Real but manageable, and it concentrates from late September through November. A conference-weighted programme with a contracted indoor alternative rarely loses anything. A programme built around a beach gala in that window is taking a risk the discount does not cover.
Which is the single best month?
March, on balance: reliable weather, comfortable temperatures and availability that has not yet tightened the way April does. September is the value pick if you can accept some variability.
Does the season affect flight prices too?
Considerably, and it moves with domestic leisure demand rather than the MICE calendar. June and July are the most expensive flights of the year into Da Nang, which compounds the ground-rate increase in those months.
